We always discuss Heavenly Father sending His son— consider for a moment how Heavenly Mother must have felt as she sent Her son to Earth to fulfill His role as the Lamb of God. Mary must have been absolutely remarkable to have been entrusted with bearing and raising the Savior of the world, and I have no doubt that she relied heavily on divine guidance to do so. As you reflect on each element of the Nativity this Christmas— Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the star... give thought to both of His mothers and their roles in the life of Christ.
